Jerejak Resort & Spa

As the round table members approved, we set the date for a day of activity in Jerejak Island Resort & Spa on the 8th May 2010. Only six of us embarked on this mission (me, Jimnie, Nadia, Cathy, Yakinah & Patrick)
We are not the only group that are heading towards the island once known as the Alcatraz of Malaysia that morning. There was other groups with designated colour coded teams. Took the 0830 hours ferry, and reached the island 10 minutes later.

At first I was a bit confused and blur (perhaps the caffeine need a kickstart for my system to be up and running). Since we are paying with credit card, we need to go to the resort lobby to pay the outstanding amount (the jetty office only do cash transaction). Arriving at the lobby, there was a red team and yellow team (looks like the war between hotlink & digi) and we are the most colourful team of the day. Recommended to read through the Jerejak Island history and the surrounding environment located at the walkway from lobby towards the main coffee house.
First stop is the wall climbing located beside the paintball arena & the low element. We was the first team to arrived there, giving us ample time to try two different routes each. Warning, mosquito's think human as their breakfast buffet. Climb without a proper climbing shoes is so not my preference. The guides were helpful enough to help us with our sense of direction up the wall. The winner for this activity goes to Cathy, as she climb to the highest point.
About five minute walk from the wall climbing point, we reached the suspension bridge (involved a bit of vertical challenge). Only five person at once to cross this bridge with a small lake below. At the other end of the bridge is the flying fox take off point (to cross back to the other side). Guess the length of the flying fox is roughly 70m. We were still lucky though, because those big groups haven't reach here yet. It was one hell of a awesome ride as I jumped off the stairs. Everyone else in the team glides safely to the other side.
Next stop, is to get some bulls eye marks. Its the archery pit stop. Each were given three arrows to get it right. It was not easy at all. One need to calculate the wind speed and direction to aim for the red marks. It was Nadia who got the most arrow on the target (2 out of 3). By this hour, our stomach sounded like an orchestra play. It was another hour before lunch is properly served. We lingered by the pool, played some darts and ping pong.
Its almost lunch time and there was plenty of Digi mascot (what I called the yellow team)conquering the buffet area. Mushroom soups, rice with few curry, spaghetti bologna & plenty of puddings for desserts. The food was ok, nothing extra ordinary. I like the spaghetti though.

It was cycling after lunch, but seems everyone had a little bit more than expected. By the way, the boat schedule back to mainland work at odd hours. There is one at 1330 hours and the next boat is at 1530 hours. All of us decided to get back to mainland with the 1330 hours boat ride. Reached the jetty station and the big white ferry that we came in with had just departed with full passengers. waited for another 10 minutes, and smaller speedboat came by. Can only fit 10 passengers at a time, we reached the mainland safely and looked a little bit burn.
All the activity, lunch buffet and return ferry transfer only cost us RM60 perperson. Discount rate at RM50 if 10pax and above. It was my first experienced to step on the island and it was worth it. Thank you NCS!
