Broga Hill

My guess is that most of KLians had been to Borga Hill or at least heard of it. Broga hill is situated in Semenyih, Selangor. Recently Broga Hill became utterly famous when our first astronauts Dato' Sheikh Muzaffar decide to do his pre-wedding photo-shoot here.

Directions:
From Equine Park in Sri Kembangan, we (me + Emmy) drove towards the Kajang SILK highway. We pass through two toll (RM1 each) and take the exit Jalan Semenyih (take left after the second toll). At the traffic light turn right, and drive straight ahead until you see a Petronas on your right. Here turn left at the traffic light (there will be sign to Broga Hill) and just follow the road. You will pass the University of Nottingham Malaysia campus. Soon after that you'll see plenty of cars parked alongside the road, and even inside the palm tree plantation on your left. There will a parking fee of RM2 per car entry into the palm tree plantation. Of course its a bit shady there.

When to climb...
Most of the hikers prefer to start hiking around 4am. Just in time to catch the breathtaking sunrise on top of the hill. Should you to hike at this wee hour, please bring along a working torchlight (phone torchlight are not advisable). The terrain may be slippery especially during rainy days. When you about to reach the top, just be extra careful as the hill slope is almost 60%. For some, it may be difficult to reach the top. Usually by 8am the hikers will start descending down. Hiking up after 7am may take longer time. The trail is narrow with a lot of hikers trying to go up & get down using the same pathway.

Dato' Sheikh Muzaffar trail...
When I last went there in October 2010, the swing used as props in his photoshoot was still there, only the white cloths has been tore down. Another friend of mine went there recently, and told me that the original swing has been replace, and part of it was cut off and the rest of it was nailed to the tree. Is this an act of vandalism or just some hard core fan?
