12 pirates invaded Kenyir Lake

The WORLD is awesome : Kenyir Lake, Malaysia (26.2.2010 - 28.2.2010)
It was a seven long hours to Kenyir Lake from Penang (via Kulim - Grik). I've never drive there before, consider its virgin to me. Thanks to today modern technology - the GPS (pak Garmin as we called it) I get to see exactly how tipsy turvy the road was. Once you left the Penang bridge, you wont see another petrol station (Caltex, Shell & Petronas) till you arrived in Jeli, Kelantan (roughly about 250km)
0300 hours, roadblock in Jeli.
Managed to reach Pengkawal Gawi Jetty at 6am. From the main road, turn right into a small road (I missed it the first place). Follow the path and once u turn right, keep your speed slow unless you are driving a 4WD. Very bad road conditioned ahead. It goes on until you reach the main entrance into Kenyir Lake (roughtly 2km). Next, in search of Kg Basong (my other 2 friends took the bus from Kuala Lumpur onboard the Kenyir express). Be warned, as the bus driver simply drop u off by end of the road. Had breakfast (we acted like it was buffet), then its time to board our rented boathouse - astro, DVD player, complete kitchen with BBQ pit, basic amenities, 2 small boats and a few fishing rod.
I almost hit a boar. Kalau tak, kena samaklah...

Gua Bewah (Bewah Cave)
First stop after about 4hours of travelling. Well we didn't feel that long since all of us were busy with cam-whoring xtvt. Recently reported that the archeologist found a skeleton which happen to be the oldest in Malaysia. Pak Man, our boatman guide us through the dark cave with some local folklore.
Gua Taat (Taat Cave)
Unfortunately, we came at the wrong time. The cave entrance was submerged underwater. July will be the best time to visit Taat cave. Bewah and Taat is just 5minutes away.
Parked the boat, then Pak Man gave us the 'OK from Toman fish' signed to us. Jumped into the warm lake water, swimming along with fishes.

Air Terjun Lasir (Lasir Waterfall)
Second day on the boat, moving towards Lasir Waterfall located about 3hours away from previous location. 5 minutes walk to the waterfall. Here, the water is cooler than the lake. Walked to the top, managed to find a more secluded area for us. It just wasn't good enough to terjun tiruk. So, we went back to the biggest, probably the deepest pool by the waterfall. I've completely forgotten about my camera. Fascinated by the waterfall and the temptation to jump right in! By night, its BBQ time!

Taman Herba (Herbs Garden)
Early in the morning, I felt as if the earth was moving (when later I realize I was on a boathouse!) Pak Man make an early head start to Tmn Herba which opens at 10am. There's plenty of herbs being planted here, and there is a reflexology path for visitors to try. Welcome drink is served for the visitors. Pure juice Tongkat Ali serve 'dry' for the man & the ladies a cosmo Fatimah with Mas Cotek.
